I wasn’t the child that grew up loving PE at school, in fact, I tried my best to avoid it! You would instead find me in one of my jazzy leotards outside of school at trampolining or gymnastics. I spent my teenage years avoiding any type of exercise until I discovered the gym at 16, from there I grew to love a challenge. Since then I’ve completed the Great North Run twice, the London marathon once (never again!!), and 3 physique competitions. However, my biggest challenge to date was recovering from a back injury. Slipping a disc in 2016 quite literally put me on my ass physically and mentally, but from that came strength and patience I never knew I had. Learning to understand my own body, I educated myself on anatomy, posture and what it means to move well. I got my PT qualification and completely changed my mindset towards training.
