Steve says "From the moment I put a pair of On trainers on, I've never looked back. In fact, I am on my 5th pair now. The tag line is 'run on clouds' and that couldn't be more accurate. I feel I could run forever in these."

BEST FOR TRAIL RUNNING - INOV 8 MUDCLAW 275

Nigel says "They offer me the best support with terrific grip on both muddy and rocky terrain. I always add an ironman inner sole for added protection for longer distances. These have carried me around many ultra events in the lake district."

BEST GYM ALL ROUNDER - NEW BALANCE MINIMUS PREVAIL

Conor says "Always been a fan of a more minimalistic training shoe that was versatile enough for lifting and lighter running and this shoe marries those principals perfectly. They have a nice arch built in and a decent enough heel to help with squatting. but on the flip side, the heel isn't high enough that it takes away feeling grounded for deadlifts. These are the shoe I tried after many others and never looked back."

BEST FOR LIFTING - REEBOK NANO

Jack says "These comfy enough to wear all day but perfect for heavy lifting because of the width of the sole. They allow your toes to spread to give you a firm best when under the bar. They're also super light so you can do hiit style training in these with no problems. I have had plenty of pairs now and will have plenty more."

BEST FOR FUNCTION - VIVO BAREFOOT

Becci says "Although my preference in the gym is to just wear no shoes at all. I believe that a shoe should be foot shaped, not a foot to be shoe shaped. We get sensory feedback through the soles of our feet so things like balance can be massively improved. That being said, my advice is to break yourself in gently with barefoot shoes as it takes a while for your feet to build strength."
